4 Keys to Financial Security 10/17/2017

Here are instructions from the Bible for financial secuity:

1. Proverbs 3:9 tells us, “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.” You who have honored God with your investments in the Gospel, have done exactly as the Bible says...

2. Be content with what we have. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” Betty and I were once content without a car or TV and eating meat once a week for years. By God's grace we can go through hard times again if they come. Beware: loving the things of this world can steal your contentment and happiness.

3. Avoid debt. Proverbs 22:7 “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” America is now the biggest “borrower” in history, and suffering from it.

4. Trust your Heavenly Father. “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:31-33).

Job said, when he had lost everything, “And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” (Job 1:21). In time God restored Job’s wealth.
