Are Christians asking the wrong Questions? 03/13/2012

Perhaps a reason Christians are losing gound in the U.S. is Christians are asking the wrong question.

“If you were to die tonight, do you know for sure that you would go to heaven?” No other question has been so identified with American evangelism and the evangelical movement. Billy Graham used it regularly in his crusades and books, and it was the backbone of
training for D. James Kennedy’s Evangelism Explosion.”

Research shows we might be answering a question people are not asking.

“But a new survey from LifeWay Research suggests that it’s not a question many people are asking themselves. About 11 percent of Americans say they wonder about it once a year or so; similar percentages said the question occurs monthly
or weekly. But about half (46%) said they never wonder about it at all.”

“Starting faith-sharing conversations by assuming people are wondering about spiritual things when they are not could be the wrong place to start,” says Scott McConnell, director of LifeWay Research
