100 Million Christians Face Persecution in 60 Countries 08/14/2012

Christians around the world have been praying for Aasiya Noreen, the first woman ever to be given the death penalty under Pakistan’s blasphemy law.

“Aasiya is one of more than 100 million Christians who face persecution in more than 60 countries around the world simply because of their faith in Jesus Christ,” reports Charisma magazine. ”Seventy percent of the world’s 6.8 billion people live in countries with high or some restrictions on religion, according to a study by the Pew Research Forum on Religion & Public Life. The persecution and lack of religious freedom often leave believers feeling like they suffer alone.”

Jesus predicted the persecution of His followers: "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you... If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you... (John 15:18-20); "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of My name." (Matthew 24:9).

The persecutions are horrible, but they are reassuring that God’s predictions always come true. So will His promise to return for His saints.
