President Obama Denounced the Bibles he was Sworn in on
Ken Dilanian and David G. Savage reported, “By equating the gay rights struggle with those of African Americans and women, President Obama in his inaugural address set a standard that boosted gay activists' hopes that he soon would make a bold legal move to support a constitutional right to gay marriage.”
Obama said, "Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law," he continued, "for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well."
The Lesbian and Gay Band Assn., with 215 members later marched past the president in the inaugural parade.
Obama was sworn in with his hand on two Bibles. In his speech he denounced what those Bibles teach.
