by Moody Adams The under-25 generation is texting in meetings, while eating, on the john, after going to bed and before getting up and even during sex! They can work with one hand and text with the other to send out thousands of messages a month. Blogger carbonware, Waukesha, WI, comments on the rudeness of people who ignore the people they are eating with while texting: “There are plenty of people in society who have become more and more selfish and self absorbed but that is not to say it has become socially acceptable to act that way, only that a small percentage of people do so regardless of social manners.
It's the same people who cut you off at the freeway exit instead of waiting their turn or talk during movies, its all considered bad behavior. … Lets face it most of this is ego tripping anyway, people addicted to social networking are looking for constant confirmation that someone cares about them or thinks they are important enough to communicate with.”
Maybe this helps me understand the self-absorbed youngsters who ignore us to peck away on their cell phones. It should be expected. The Bible foretold that “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves” (II Timothy 3:1, 2).
