Mega-Church Votes to End Relationship With Boy Scouts
An evangelical Christian Church is dropping its scouting program because the Boy Scouts decided to accept homosexuals.
Tim Hester, executive pastor of Southeast Christian Church, "Truly for us it's a logical decision," he said. "We cannot be distracted from the mission God has called us to."
"We want everyone, including ourselves, to live by biblical standards," Hester said.
The 30,000 member church had hundreds of families involved in scouting.
The Boy Scouts new position has offended both sides of the issue. Homosexuals are glad their boys are accepted, but offended they do not allow homosexual leaders. Christians are offended at the acceptance of people openly in disregard of the Bible’s position.
