Moody Adams God has a prescription for a new beginning in a new year.
In Isaiah 43:18-19, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
A diferent year than the past ones requires that you forget—forget the past faiures. Sure you have done bad things in the past. In Jeremiah 31:34 God promises those who know the Lord, “Saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” John 1:7 promises, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. We are cleansed. Our past sins are forever gone.
Sure you have had past failures. But in the future year God is with you and He never fails. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
Declare with Paul, “Brethren... forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)
Forget all those past failures and begin the New Year with the confidence that Christ is changing you and He can change your future.
