There has never been a greater illustration of a forgotten Biblical truth than the one provide by a short, frumpy little Scottish lady in a dress that looked like one from a second hand store. “47 year old Susan Boyle proved all the people who prejudged and the cynical doubters wrong,” said ScaredMoney. “She was asked what her dream was. Her answer, to be a professional singer. Simon Cowell then asks why hadn’t it worked out for you? Susan said she had never been given a chance. The audience and the judges all pre-judges this woman … until she opened her mouth.

“Everyone laughed at her when she said she wanted to be like Elaine Page, The First Lady of British Musical Theatre.”
Judge Amanda Holden said, “I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you. I honesty think that we were all being very cynical. That was a complete wake up call”.

Our generation has been caught up by judging everyone by their outward appearance. We have completely forgotten 1Samuel 16:7: “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature … for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
Jesus said to another “outward appearance” generation, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.” (Matthew 23:27).
