The Bible tells us why the pastor was slain in Illinois church

Master Trooper Ralph Timmins says the killer walked down the aisle during the service, at the First Baptist Church of Maryville, Ill., exchanged words with the pastor, then drew a .45-caliber handgun and killed Pastor Fred Winters.

If this were a religious nut killing an abortionist there would be an outcry, Washington politicians would propose new Hate crime legislation, Hollywood would be making a movie, etc, etc. However, when it is a simple man of God being murdered by some nut it is hardly even newsworthy.”

The loudest voices about the murder are the gun control folks who blame the killing on the pistol. They never stop to notice how many were murdered before we had guns, or the millions killed in African countries where all guns are illegal.

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed … murders,” (Mark 7:21).

Through a miracle, a new birth, a conversion, God can transform the evil heart of man: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh,” (Ezekiel 36:26).

Leading men to Christ is the answer to such killings.
