“The report from the International Narcotics Control Board says ‘the abuse from prescription drugs is greater in some countries than from heroin, cocaine and ecstasy combined,’" reports USA TODAY. “The report says the "date-rape drug" phenomenon is soaring as they abandon illegal drugs for legal ones.”

The report says: “What is alarming is the unscrupulous way in which those drugs are used upon unwitting victims — the drugs, which are usually disguised in food or drinks, are introduced in dosages that are significantly higher than the dosages used for therapeutic purposes —a practice which entails serious health risks for the victims. Sexual assault crimes are often committed in public places such as bars, restaurants,
nightclubs but also in private surroundings.”

It isn’t just men using the drugs. Blogger ScarryBarry comments: “Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink by any woman. Many females use an existing date-drug on the market called 'Beer ' to entice men into relationships with them. …

“Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several Beers, men will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted. … At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's savings, in a familiar scam known as 'a relationship'. In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as 'marriage'.”
