“DON’T WEAR THE CROSS IN THE HOLY CITY” 03/17/2009

By Moody Adams
Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, who will meet the pontiff when he visits the Holy Land on May 12, said that a cross is not proper when visiting the Jewish religious site, The Jerusalem Post reported.

This is the city where the Rabbis and the Jews screamed “crucify Him" as Jesus gave his life for mankind. This is the city where Jesus rose up from the dead. Now they do not even want a reminder of His crucifixion and resurrection!

Paul asked “… is the offence of the cross ceased?” (Galatians 5:11). No, and it hasn’t ended 1,900 years later. The cross still offends.

The cross tells us that we are all wicked sinners, incapable of keeping Moses’ law, or doing any thing to save ourselves. Christ had to give His life as a substitute for our sins or we would all go to hell.

This cross tramples on the pride of man—it remains an offense.
