HIS LAST ACT WAS TO SAVE HIS WIFE AND UNBORN CHILD
by Moody Adams When an oncoming SUV crossed the center line, Brian Wood swerved to the left and took the force of the wreck on his side of the car. This saved his wife and their unborn child.
"It breaks my heart and it also fills me with gratefulness," a weeping Erin Wood, 31, told NBC's "Today" show this morning. "If it would have been a head-on crash, we both would have been killed and our baby," she said.
The woman driving the SUV was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of cocaine. Two of her passengers were killed.
A great love story was written on Whidbey Island in Washington State, where 33-year-old Brian Wood was pronounced dead. His wife and unborn child are both o.k. The baby is due in early November. Brian’s quick actions saved them.
Jesus said, before He gave His life to atone for our sins, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). The measure of love is sacrifice.
