ATHIST ORGANIZE TO END CLERGYMEN'S TAX-EXEMPT HOUSING
The Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation is out to cut tax exemption for churches.
Since the 1920s, the Internal Revenue Service has given ministers a tax break on their housing. Ministers who live in church-owned parsonages get that benefit tax-free and even those who own their own homes can write this off.
A growing and enthusiastic group of atheist is stepping up their attacks on religion. Tax-exempt housing for clergymen is their latest front of assault.
