SEX ADDICTION A “GLOBAL EPIDEMIC” AMONG “CHRISTIANS” 08/21/2009

“Two Christian psychologists who have advised a number of churches and community groups on the sex-related problems that plague society have released a book that chronicles the problem of addiction to Internet pornography among Christians, including pastors, and describes problems that this type of addiction can create,” reports Aaron J. Leichman of the Christian Post.

A 2000 survey by Christianity Today, revealed 37 percent of pastors said pornography is a "current struggle" of theirs.

“We live in a highly sexualized culture and are conditioned to believe that sexual potency should be a primary function of our lifestyle,” says psychologist Ronald Vanderbeck. “Sex on the Internet is like a drug. It is a very seductive process and people can become enslaved by it.”

Television and the Internet are turning sex addiction into a global epidemic.

This addiction can be broken quickly. Just put out your eyes. This may sound radical but Christ said it is profitable for you: better than going to hell with good eyes: “And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell” (Matthew 5:29).
