by Moody Adams “The global swine flu epidemic first emerged in April, sickening more than 1 million Americans and killing about 500,” reports USA TODAY. “More than 2,000 people have died worldwide. Health officials are preparing for a surge in cases this fall and one White House report from a panel of experts suggests up to half the U.S. population could catch swine flu during a pandemic.”
Other health officials are talking about one half of all people world-wide will be infected.
A vaccine will not be available until October. If it works, there still will not be anywhere near enough.
The Flu is a name given to many different viruses that seriously infect the throat and lungs.
It normally kills around 35,000 a year in the U.S. One of the bad ones, names the Spanish Flu,” kill near 50 million world-wide and a half million in the U.S.
When Jesus Christ’s disciples asked Him for signs of His return and the end of time, He answered in Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
Added to the prophetic developments in the Middle East, this certainly is telling Christians to “look up.” Wash your hands and "look up." Beyond this world, with all its trials and troubles, there is a sure hope.
