A nation upset about the “not guilty” verdict on Casey Anthony, should remember there is another sentencing coming before the throne of God.

There will be no “circumstantial evidence presented. God is an eye witness of every crime: “And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 3:5).

Human courts are not perfect, but our just God will give the right sentencing: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he” (Deuteronomy 32:4).

There will be no hesitation over the death penalty, but a sentence of a “second, eternal death” on the guilty: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” Revelation 21:8).

There is proof no one will escape this judgment. The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves we will live beyond the grave and face judgment: "God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent because he hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world by righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained, whereof he hath given assurance unto all men in that he hath raised him from the dead" (Acts 17:30,31).

Jesus Christ suffered all our torture of hell on the cross, the sinless one dying for sinners, that those who repent might have assurance of a pardon and allow them to look forward to the day of judgment with bold confidence: ""Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment" (l John 4: 17).
