PASTORS SEEK TO QUASH PROSPERITY GOSPEL IN BLACK CHURCHES 03/24/2010

“Dr. Robert M. Franklin wrote in Crisis in the Village that the prosperity gospel was the greatest threat to black churches. The nation's largest African American religious organization – the 7.5 million-member National Baptist Convention – has denounced the teaching and the Lausanne Theology Working Group recently noted its popularity in Africa,” reports the Christian Post.

Pastors are preparing to host an event this summer called Revival 2K10 on June 4-6 in Baltimore, Md., with the purpose of countering the "heresy" of the prosperity gospel.

It is beyond understanding how people in the name of Jesus, who was a homeless man that had to catch fish to pay his taxes and borrow a coin to illustrate a sermon, could be used to promise prosperity!

2 Timothy 4:3 foretold, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears."
