HOW SAD TO SEE BUSH STRIPPED OF THE HEISMAN HE WORKED SO HARD FOR 09/08/2010

“The Heisman Trophy Trust reportedly will strip 2005 winner, Reggie Bush, of the award by the end of the month and name no winner for that season,” reports the Washington Post. “Bush would be the first athlete in the 75-year history of the award to be stripped of the honor.”

He is said to have accepted cash, gifts and other benefits in violation of NCAA rules during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, while playing at the University of Southern California.

It is sad to see a great athlete lose college footballs greatest award. To think how hard he worked to attain the Heisman, and now to have it taken away.

This sad event is a stern warning to Christians. A follower of Jesus may serve faithfully for years, but then fail to “hold fast” to what he has earned and have his crown taken from him.

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (Revelation 3:10-11.

We must be faithful to the end and keep our crown.
