TAX PAYER SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE DISPLAYS OUTRAGEOUS PICTURE OF CHRIST BEING EATEN BY ANTS 12/01/2010

“A video exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery shows Jesus on a cross being eaten by ants,” reports the Washington Post. “A tax payer funded art exhibit should not include offerings that offend Christian believers or any other religion. In the past, Christian tax payers have had to endure public mocking by such malicious art as Piss Christ in which a crucifix was immersed in the artist’s urine. This new exhibit can now be added to the list.”

This lack of Christian response shows the faith’s great contrast with Islam. A blogger wrote, I think in the spirit of all of Islam, the Pope should issue a death warrant on the artist and American Catholics should consider setting fire to the Smithsonian....Because it's acceptable behavior now as far as I can tell.”

Jesus both showed and taught His disciples how to handle the world’s hatred: “If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me" (John 15:18-21).
