In the Land Where Babies Die 10/05/2011

The Southern Sudan has a child mortality of 15 deaths per 100 live births. The country has been ravaged by years of war with Northern Muslims, the world’s highest infant morality rate, and now also faces starvation.

It was this desperate land that drew us to start Bible Skills Institute, 5 years ago.

While 2,753 of our coalition soldiers were dying in Afganistan, over 2 million were dying in the forgotten land of the Sudan. The world has forgotten about this tragic country.

Despite being endowed with oil, which is the base of Southern Sudan’s economy, a full 90% of the population lives below the poverty line -- surviving on just a half a dollar a day.

So far, BSI students have won 85,915 people to Christ and started 1,512 new churches in Central Africa.
